Throughout the year, the L.A.M.P. Mentor Program receives tremendous support and accolades from many members of our local and national community. We are privileged to express our gratitude to Ms. Blair Imani, author of the book, Read This to Get Smarter.
Ms. Imani is a nationally recognized author. Her works include Read This to Get Smarter: About Race, Class, Gender, Disability, and More (2021), Making Our Way Home: The Great Migration and the Black American Dream (2020), and Modern HERstory: Stories of Women and Nonbinary People Rewriting History (2018). Ms. Imani has lectured and presented Oxford, Stanford, Brown, Harvard, Duke, and as well as numerous conferences in the US and abroad.
Ms. Imani’s not only participated in the recent L.A.M.P. Alumni-Mentee Collaboration Workshop by speaking to the young men about the nuggets of empowerment that are in the pages of her book, she also gave a copy of her book, Read This to Get Smarter to each Alumni and Mentee in attendance.
