L.A.M.P. Mentor Program Visits Washington DC and the White House on the 2nd Capstone Experience Excursion.

The 2nd Annual L.A.M.P. Mentor Program Capstone Experience Excursion took 10 rising seniors, one graduating senior and six Mentors to Washington, DC for a week of college and museum visits, cultural activities and dinners with successful African American men from June 11-17, 2023. The group arrived at 7:00 am Sunday, June 11 and proceeded to the cultural center and restaurant at Busboys & Poets on 14th Street. Although everyone was tired from the red-eye flight from LAX, we all perked up when the shrimp & grits and other delectable dishes arrived for breakfast. L.A.M.P. Launches 2023-2024 Program Year with Record Enrollment

The Gamma Zeta Boule Foundation’s L.A.M.P. Mentor Program began its 2023-2024 Program Year with an Orientation and Etiquette Workshop on August 26, 2023. The Program experienced exponential growth from last year and increased in enrollment from 36 African American high school male students to 60 and resultant challenges in terms of resources. The Orientation included the Mentees and approximately 95 parents and 12 Mentors and members of the Gamma Zeta Boule Foundation board of directors. Speakers included Archon Earle Charles, L.A.M.P. Program Director, Archon Ramsey Jay, Jr., Foundation President and Archon Gilbert Holmes, L.A.M.P. Director of Curriculum and Development. Washington D.C. - Experiential Excursion The L.A.M.P. Mentorship Program concluded its program-year in June 2023 with a remarkable capstone Experiential Excursion to Washington D.C. Notable highlights included a historic visit with the Ambassador of Guyana, the Honorable Samuel Hinds at the Guyana Embassy, and a prearranged tour of the White House.
