Fall Greetings to You & Yours,
On behalf of the Gamma Zeta Boulé Foundation (GZBF) Board of Directors, in this month’s edition of The Brotherhood, I am honored to share three matters of significance.

Washington D.C. – Experiential Excursion
The L.A.M.P. Mentorship Program concluded its program-year in June 2023 with a remarkable capstone Experiential Excursion to Washington D.C. Notable highlights included a historic visit with the Ambassador of Guyana, the Honorable Samuel Hinds at the Guyana Embassy, and a prearranged tour of the White House. As tremendous as this capstone was for our eleven rising seniors and six mentors, it was merely an enticing precursor of what was to come a month later.

L.A.M.P. Mentorship Program Growth
In July 2023 when the L.A.M.P. Mentorship enrollment period commenced, we witnessed significant growth from thirty-six (36) Mentees in the 2022-23 Program Year, to sixty (60) Mentees in the 2023-24 Program Year; a record 67% growth – year over year. Gratitude is due to both the GZBF Board of Directors, and the L.A.M.P. Mentorship Program Operational Team as their dedication enabled us to seamlessly welcome twenty-four new Mentees at the August 2023 Orientation Workshop.

During the Orientation Workshop it was beyond rewarding to meet so many new families (Mentees, Parents, and Guardians). As I always do in my GZBF affiliated interactions, I challenged the Mentees and families to honor the creed that … “we are all here to participate, not to spectate”. It was pure music to my ears to both hear, and see, everyone articulate this philosophy and practice it by making immediate commitments to participate on a go forward basis.

Gamma Zeta Boulé Foundation Board of Directors Expansion
To ensure GZBF Board governance effectively underwrites the aforementioned programmatic expansion, I am pleased to announce the election of two new board members, Mr. Mark Fowler and Mr. Nathaniel Reddick. Mark and Nate were elected to the GZBF Board in August 2023 and together bring extensive corporate and operational experience. They will be tremendous agents who will assist us in advancing GZBF’s ever expanding agenda. You will learn more about Mark, Nate, and the entire GZBF Board in upcoming Brotherhood! Newsletters.
In closing, we look forward to you supporting our mission’s critical work this academic year. Or said another way, do not spectate join us and participate!

Respectfully,
Ramsey Jay, Jr.
