Fall Weekend Retreat

From October 7 to 9, 2022, L.A.M.P. conducted its inaugural Fall Weekend Retreat in the mountains of Wrightwood, California. At the Washington DC Experiential Excursion in June 2022, during our nightly reviews of the past day’s events and while sharing their opinion on each graduating senior on the trip, each Mentee acknowledged the value of sharing space with other Mentees at the monthly workshops on Saturday mornings however, they also expressed concerns that they did not have much opportunity to really get to know his fellow Mentees “on a personal” level within that format alone. After listening to what was a common theme, the L.A.M.P. leadership team decided to add a [...]

Meeting With Alumni

The L.A.M.P. workshop each December is quite special because it is when former L.A.M.P. Mentees, the Alumni of this program come back to speak to the current Mentees. This year, nine Alumni returned to speak candidly with the Mentees. The contingent of Alumni spanned the spectrum of 2022 graduates from L.A.M.P. to Sophomores; Juniors; Seniors, in universities across this nation to a former Mentee who has been in the workforce for a while, working in wealth management for Goldman Sachs. Though it is not customary for anyone who is not a Mentee or a Mentor or a Speaker to attend L.A.M.P. workshops, we usually break this custom in the December meeting [...]

SPOTLIGHT- Evan Blyden

The Impact of COVID-19 on the National Basketball Association Current Mentee and Senior in the L.A.M.P. Mentor Program - Evan Blyden COVID-19 has added a new level of unpredictability to the NBA. Injuries have always played a role in basketball. They force players to miss time. Teams are left incomplete and have to cover for the member that is absent. These teams may suffer losses that could have been avoided if they had a full team. The same goes for a healthy team playing against a team missing key players. They might get a win they wouldn't have if both teams were healthy. Injuries have a huge effect on a team’s [...]
